Rudy Fernandez might be a Trail Blazer
Rudy Fernandez is leaving his mark in Spain, and perhaps increasing the chances he'll be in a Trail Blazer uniform next year.
Fernandez is a six-foot-five shooting guard. He scored 32 points to help his team capture the Copa del Rey in a win over tournament host Tau Ceramica.
And that followed a 20-point, five-assist performance in the quarterfinals against Pamesa Valencia.
The 22-year-old Spaniard, a close friend of Portland point guard Sergio Rodriguez, was named the MVP of the tournament for the second time. He also won the award in 2004.
The Blazers purchased the draft rights to Fernandez from the Phoenix Suns, who picked him in the first round last year.
